I enjoyed this book. It was a quick easy read. It was a slow burn which I love.
Charlie was dealt with a bad hand when it came to her family. Her family are just plain horrible. They feel no love. She did some terrible things that made her a single mother to a beautiful baby girl named Zoe. She wanted a better and a supportive lifestyle for her baby so she left. She did not plan to meet Chase and his family. They took her in and showed her what real love and affection should come from a family. Chase also had demons to exorcize and Charlie helped him do that. He fell inlove with her baby girl as well.
I wanted more from the ending though. The whole book has been building up to her confronting her father but when she did it was kind of anticlimactic. It felt rushed and squeezed into the final chapter.
I know Ronan (Charlie’s brother) was an ass but I want a book with him.
Lone Star Princess
To be honest, this book didn’t really do it for me. I found it lacking. It took me a long time to finish because I couldn’t really get it into it.
I hated to push and pull of their relationship. I usually love that type of things in books. I felt like she was more into him than he was into her. She kept on chasing him. He was sort of punishing her and categorizing her with his ex. He didn’t want to give their relationship a chance.
I was disappointed with this book. To be honest, I didn’t feel the love between the two main characters and I felt like the were jumping the gun at the ending.
